To combat seasonal smog and hazardous particulate matter levels during winter months, LWMC deploys heavy-duty mobile mist machines (anti-smog atomizing water cannons) mounted on specialized trucks. These high-capacity units project micro-fine atomized water droplets up to 50 meters into the atmosphere along high-traffic corridors and industrial perimeters.
The atomized mist bonds with suspended airborne dust, vehicular PM2.5 and PM10 particulates, and industrial emissions, pulling them down to ground level where mechanical sweeping and washing vehicles can clear them efficiently. This physical suppression reduces hazardous air quality index (AQI) spikes and improves vehicular visibility on key expressways.
Operating according to meteorological forecasts and environmental advisory notices, the mist machine fleet forms an essential technological intervention in the Government of Punjab’s anti-smog emergency action plan.
