LWMC demonstrates unmatched operational capability during major cultural, religious, and national events, implementing customized contingency master plans tailored to citywide gatherings. The largest of these operations takes place during Eid-ul-Azha, where over 3,000 departmental and specialized outsourced vehicles evacuate hundreds of thousands of tons of sacrificial animal offal within record hours.
Prior to Eid, millions of biodegradable offal collection bags along with awareness literature are distributed door-to-door to citizens. Rapid response teams, helpline monitoring desks, and mobile camps across all towns ensure zero tolerance for uncollected animal waste, followed by exhaustive phenyl washing, disinfectant spraying, and lime dusting across neighborhoods.
Similarly, dedicated routes and emergency sanitation cordons are maintained during Muharram processions, Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, Pakistan Super League (PSL) cricket matches, marathon events, and state visits, showcasing LWMC’s agility in managing massive public waste logistics.
